Jennifer Palmer
Yesterday I travelled to Columbus to attend the memorial service for Jennifer Palmer. Her death is both breathtakingly sad and joyful at the same time. Her suffering, and that of husband Mark, was intense. Without a doubt she has attained her goal. A number of people shared memories of Jennifer and what she had meant to them. It was a great testimony to the incredible importance of relationships and putting people first. Following that was a time of worship.
Her husband Mark was, it seemed, supernaturally composed. He exuded a peace that was almost palpable, so confident in the resurrection. Like you, I can’t imagine myself in that position. It was good to see pictures of Jennifer prior to her illness since I had not known them.
My suggestion is that we make a contribution to the special church planting fund that was mentioned in the previous entry. For now they have quite a few friends and family who are helping so we should probably wait before doing anything else. We will maintain a connection with Mark and Micah so in the meantime keep praying.
Here are a few pictures I was able to get. Might take a little time to load so be patient.
This is Micah.
Here’s a picture of 64 King (their house).

This is the fountain that a friend built for Jennifer in their backyard. Goldfish and everything. Lots of plants in the backyard but I couldn’t get a shot of the whole thing.

Mark Palmer and Eric Keck inside the house. Mark is taller than me.

Bill…
The Palmers have really been on my heart, even though I have never met them… just through your blog and Patty. What a heartbreaking time for their family and friends. It is startlingly strange, too, to look at your pictures and read Mark’s blog, and realize that they live in a house I know, and not a mile away from where I spent 6 years of my life. I wish I had known them then. I am praying for Mark, Micah, and their family. Thank you for bringing even those of us who do not know them into their story a little bit…
